Do This Today: Get Kyle Kinane Tickets

I love comedy (if that wasn’t clear to you already) and I recommend getting tickets to Kyle Kinane’s show at the Ballroom with Shane Torres and Jerry Morgan. I’ve seen Kyle perform a ton in Los Angeles, and I’m excited to see he’s traveling around hitting up smaller venues. The even isn’t happening until next Thursday, January 22, but your “Do This Today” activity is buying your ticket today before they sell out! Tickets are $15 (a steal for CT comedy) and the show starts at 8p. I have my ticket, do you have yours?!

Event: Kyle Kinane, Shane Torres,, and Jerry Morgan at The Ballroom (event link)
Location: The Ballroom at The Outer Space, 295 Treadwell Street, Hamden CT

Doug Loves Movies (October 2, 2012)

It’s Comedy Wednesday, so it’s time for last nights wrap-up of Doug Loves Movies and Comedy Bang Bang which I saw last night at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. Let’s begin with DLM:

Doug Loves Movies:

This weeks guests are Zach Galifinakis, Anthony Jeselnik (although he couldn’t make it), and Kyle Kinane. To hear who won the Leonard Maltin game, you’ll have to listen to it on Friday HERE.

Just incase you’ve never heard of these guys…
Zach Galifinakis is a stand-up (check out Netflix for the Purple Onion) who has since become a movie star. With all his success, I think my frorite project of his is Between Two Ferns.

Anthony Jeselnik is a well known stand-up comedian. I’ve seen him perform at the Comedy Bang Bang Nativity Show, this past year. He was pumped to do the show, but then got tied up at the doctors and was unable to show up.

Kyle Kinane is very funny and about to tour, so check out his dates HERE. He also has a cd out called Death of the Party that is worth a listen.

UPDATE:

I want to share the above photo taken last night by excellent comedy photographer Liezl Estipona. That would probably be my dream job- watching comedians all night and taking awesome photos of them. She took this photo of me, my friend Gabe, and Zach G and the comedy nerd inside me HAD to share. Thank you Liezl for sharing!

Do This Today: The Super Serious Show

I’ve decided to start out a new segment of the blog. Since fun things are constantly going on mid-week and on the weekends here in Los Angeles, in addition to the Weekend Guide I’m going to start giving weekday daily updates called “Do This Today”. This won’t interfere with my regular posts. Just think of it as an added mini-post to help you find fun things to do around LA daily. Sometimes it’ll be a special event or even something ongoing, but I promise it’ll be budget friendly.

Today’s “Do This Today” is about COMEDY! Tonight at Cafe Fais Do-Do there will be a performance of the Super Serious Show. Remember when I went last month and had a blast? Well, now you can go experience the show with a whole new set of comedians.

Tonights show features Michael Kosta, Kyle Kinane, The Sklar Brothers, Jackie Kashian, Guy Branum and videos by Jeremy Konner. It starts at 7pm, and tickets are $13 if you get them in advance. I happen to know that the discount code for half-priced tickets is COTON (assuming the deal is still on) and you can get them HERE. There is free beer from Eagle Rock Brewery and free wine from Cube Cafe. And of course there will be a food truck (TBD) in the back patio. Get your tickets, bring a friend and have a hilarious night!
