S’mores!

I got this great deal at the book store, where I picked up “Favorite Brand Name, 3 in 1″. The three sections are 110 calorie snacks, 200 calorie desserts, and 300 calorie main dishes. It’s such a great book. I’m the type where I don’t make desserts unless I’m meeting up with friends, and I had the occasion last week, which meant I whipped out the new cookbook!

Of course the first recipe I try is s’more themed. I love s’mores.

The recipe was a variation of rice krispie treats. I used chocolate rice krispies as the base, and then added in s’more ingredients. The binding agent is melted marshmallows, butter and a little sugar. The trick to getting the marshmallow chunks is adding in a cup of unmelted marshmallows toward the end. This recipe is genius!

Lets just say they taste even better than they look. I totally recommend the recipe book, s I didn’t give all the info here and it had great substitutes to save calories. One of these squares is only 89 calories! You can have two, guilt free.
