Re-Finish Table Part I

Just checking in to share a little project I’ve been secretly working on. I know I’ve haven’t shown too much of my home life (which will change by the way), but I want to share about one of my favorite hobbies. I love taking furniture, objects, anything that’s old and refinish it to make it a totally new loved item.

Last week I noticed my bedside table was a mess, and decided to clean it up. For something that I lay 3″ away from every night, I’m not sure why it took me 3 years to actually notice this table. I studied interior architecture in college which is the exact sam principle. Start with a space that isn’t functioning properly, and give it some love to make it right.

BEFORE

AFTER CLEANING

This project started as just a cleaning assignment and blossomed into a re-do job! Because even cleaned off it looks better, but not great. I inherited this table from the person who lived here last. It was never in good condition, but it’s got a great shape to it and I’d love to fix it.  It also doesn’t match the rest of the wood in the room and needs to be less-red and darker. It’s time for a good sand-down/re-stain. I’ll give you a full recount of he details when it’s completed.
